Researchers have reported that magma deep inside Mount St. Helens is on the rise, but chances of an eruption in near future are very slim. Mount St. Helens is located in Washington and the most serious eruption occurred in 1980, which caused damage to lives and economy.

It is natural for people to get nervous whenever there is a sign of activity in the volcano, especially for those living near the mountain. However, the agencies charged with monitoring volcanic activity have reassured the residents living nearby the volcano that no eruption is imminent.
The agency stated in the Cascade Volcano Authority's (CVO) weekly update that all volcanoes in the Cascade region of Washington and Oregon are displaying normal seismicity. "All the volcanoes were relatively quiet seismically and exhibited only typical background activity. The stage on regional rivers, which had been elevated owing to storms, has been slowly but steadily declining", reads the statement.
It was clearly said by the Cascades Volcano Observatory in an information statement on April 30, 2014, that re-pressurization of the magma reservoir beneath Mount St. Helens is happening since 2008. And there is no evidence to show that this re-pressurization bodes an imminent eruption.
The CVO's Seth Moran told Live Science that the balloon has got some air into it and is likely to stay in similar condition for decades. What all they can say is that they will come to know when it is ready to erupt.
The US Geological Survey (USGS) has proposed a new warning system well capable of giving early indication of the eruption of a volcano. It is believed by the USGS that the new early warning system will be a significant upgrade as it would ensure to monitor volcanoes at levels commensurate to their threats.
